If you watch the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, you will see an explosion of the sun. According to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), your view of the sun will be obstructed during a total solar eclipse.

At this time, the Earth can see the obvious edge of exploding solar plasma, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) quoted on its official website on Tuesday (2 April 2024).

BMKG (“METEOROLOGY CLIMATOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS COUNCIL” in Indonesia) explained that solar explosions are caused by internal activity in the center of the solar system. Activity levels fluctuate on an 11-year cycle, peaking this year.

So far, no one knows the cause of this phenomenon. However, BMKG writes that this could happen because the sun’s magnetic force and nuclear reactions are involved.

The impact of an explosion depends on its size. Geomagnetic storms or geomagnetic storms occur on the Earth itself.

“This occurs because an explosion at the surface of the Sun [corona] releases a large plasma [solar wind] containing charged particles along with a high-speed magnetic field that propagates into the Earth’s magnetosphere,” BMKG explained.

Coronal mass ejection is often referred to as coronal mass ejection (CME). “When a CME hits the magnetic field around the Earth [magnetosphere], charged particles are deflected from the Earth’s magnetospheric layer towards the north and south poles,” he added.

In conclusion, the BMKG stated that the effects of the solar explosion associated with the Earth’s magnetic storm are relatively harmless for Indonesia because this located at low latitudes where the Earth’s shield is strongest.

“The effects of solar explosions in the form of magnetic storms on the Earth are relatively harmless in the low latitude areas of Indonesia.

Because the strongest point (Earth’s magnetosphere) that protects the Earth from the effects of solar wind particle radiation is the BMKG he said.

On the other hand, it is not possible to directly witness a total solar eclipse in Indonesia. The solar eclipse phenomenon on April 8, 2024 will be visible in Mexico, the United States (USA), and Canada.

The GMT process will start at 10:42 PM and the phenomenon will end the next day, April 9, 2024, at 03: 52 AM.
